Amethyst Spa & Salon was founded in 1973 by Yvonne Wilson, who continues to own and operate the center. A licensed aesthetician and holistic practitioner, she has carved out a space where creature comforts tend to the spirit while practitioners tend to the body. Upon arrival, clients are invited to slip into a comfy full-length robe and sip on a complimentary beverage. After treatments, they can relax in the lounge, where soft music, a fireplace, and beverages prolong the effects of their treatment and delay a return to the outside world and to still-unfinished Yahtzee games in their 19th hours.
