As the National Lacrosse League’s defending champions, the Rock continue this season’s successful campaign as they face off against longtime rival Rochester in the East Division final, a grudge match that could catapult them into the league championship for the third consecutive time. In just 13 seasons, the squad has established itself as a perennial powerhouse by netting a record-tying six NLL cup victories. Team captain Colin Doyle leads the Rock’s dynamic offence alongside forward Garrett Billings, who dumped 114 points on opponents in the regular season, good enough for second-best in the league. Defensively, veteran Cam Woods channels 12 years of experience to stifle opposing rushes, and goalie Nick Rose–who earned his first career playoff victory in round one with 36 saves–promises to search each goal-bound projectile with a metal detector before allowing entrance to the net.
