True North Climbing safely harnesses apprentice ascenders as they scale the indoor gym’s walls towering up to 36 feet overhead. During one-hour introductory lessons, instructors teach beginning pupils proper application of climbing harnesses, tying approved safety knots, and operating a belay device to manage ropes for mountaineering partners or pet koalas training for Everest expeditions. Two-week memberships commence during the patron’s next gym visit, where they can strap on complimentary rental shoes and harnesses to traverse routes on one of 50 top-ropes or practice balancing skills on one of two slacklines. Partakers can also dangle from a ceiling-suspended stalactite or solve the gym’s 150 boulder problems through ingenuous footings and formulas invented by Einstein during his rock-climbing phase.
