The increasing popularity of gourmet cooking has given rise to a number of bandwagon-jumping restaurant chains, such as Taco Portabello, Kentucky Fried Chickpea, and McSquab. Drive past the drive-thru with today’s Groupon for one general-admission ticket to Jamie Oliver’s “The Art of Cooking”, a one-night-only event featuring the culinary star at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre at 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 18. Part of a continuing series that features world-renowned chefs sharing cutting-edge thinking and innovative cooking trends, “The Art of Cooking” will present the Naked Chef live and unedited, giving a highly interactive demonstration of recipes learned over the past 10 years. Oliver, currently the host of Food Network Canada’s new Jamie’s American Road Trip, will also introduce his latest book, Jamie’s America, which delves into the heart of great unheralded American cooking. Joining Jamie will be Bob Blumer, a highly regarded chef in his own right and the host of Food Network’s Glutton for Punishment. Following their individual presentations, the two food maestros will take questions from audience members, finally giving you the opportunity to ask how the chefs respond to recent rumours regarding broccoli’s sordid past.
