AquaSub Scuba Diving Centre has been throwing local landlubbers into the semi-deep waters of its home pool for more than eight years. During the hour-long “Discover Scuba” introductory course, one of the centre’s passionate and certified instructors will strap students into the necessary equipment—included with the lesson—and lead them in a crash course on all things scuba. You’ll become comfortable with using the technical breathing and swimming equipment, learn scuba street-slang, and absorb the basics of diving to assist you in your continued quests for underwater caches of pirate gold. All of AquaSub’s instructors are members of the Professional Association of Diving Instructors. You can use this class toward future diving certifications.
Though breathing underwater can feel a little strange at first, it quickly becomes second nature after a bit of submerged practice. Post-class, prepare to be able to shower for hours, retrieve all the coins from the bottom of every fountain, and diffuse nuclear bombs perched perilously above an abyssal alien city. Call ahead to schedule a class time.
You must bring a bathing suit and towel with you to your lesson. Participants must be at least 10 years old. If under 18 years old, a parent or guardian must be present. Participants must sign a medical release form.
